Re: Patrick Moore Guilty of Vehicular Homicide
A 45-year-old Arvada man was found guilty today of Vehicular Homicide and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death for causing the death of 22-year-old Mario Draves Santiago-Bubico in September, 2006. The day before his trial began last week, on October 16, Patrick Daniel Moore also pled guilty to two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.
On September 26, 2006 Moore drove into an accident scene, at 64th and Sheridan, and hit and killed Mario Santiago-Bubico. Moments before, Santiago-Bubico had begun to turn left in front of another vehicle and caused a collision with that vehicle. He was riding a motor scooter. As Santiago-Bubico sat up in the roadway, looking slightly dazed, everything in the intersection came to a stop, except for Moore. Witnesses say Moore ran over Bubico-Santiago and then kept going. He was killed instantly. Witnesses recovered the license plate at the accident scene and provided the information to police. Arvada police were at Moore?s house when he arrived and he was arrested at that time. Moore?s blood alcohol was over the legal limit. Moore remains out on $10,000 bond. Sentencing has been set for December 17 at 1:00 in Division 4. |
