The Facilities and Construction Management Division works daily to provide Jefferson County employees and patrons, with a safe and comfortable working environment.  Facilities and Construction Management is actively responsible for the asset management, operations and maintenance of 40 separate sites, which includes 50 primary owned buildings (approximately 1,400,000 sq ft), 10 leased facilities (96,000 rentable sq ft), as well as miscellaneous cell towers and vacant land. On average there are 7,000 work orders and approximately 3,000 Courts & Administration Conference Room requests completed per year.

2010 Major Projects

  • Additional Courts: Addition of three Courtrooms within the existing Courts & Administration Building. Several Departments will also be relocated to accommodate this remodel.
  • Animal Shelter: Construction of a new Animal Shelter at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, to replace the Table Mountain Animal Shelter.
  • Courts & Administration Building Hardscape Repair: Replacement of deteriorated pavers at the the building entrance.
  • Data Center:  Relocation of County Data Center.
  • Jail Expansion: Remodel of portions of the existing facility, construction of a new Work Release/community Corrections building and construction of a new central plant. 
  • Dakota Building Remodel: Remodel of portions of the Coroner, Vital Statistics and Sheriff areas.
  • Energy Audits: Energy Audits of Campus Buildings by energy service companies to determine potential energy and resource saving measures and feasibility.
  • Acquisition and construction of multi-purpose buildings.
