Services Provided
Traffic clerks are responsible for processing and accepting payment for Model Traffic Code penalty assessments.  Penalty assessment citations must be paid no later than 20 days from the date the citation was issued at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office MTC Office.  If not paid or mailed by that date, the notice becomes a summons requiring appearance in court at the time and place indicated on the front of the summons.  Payments can be made by cash, check, money order, MasterCard or Visa.
